Lufuno is an accomplished Environmental Scientist with over 16 years of experience in environmental management and mineral licensing. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences, is a certified Natural Scientist (SACNASP Reg: 114437), and a registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAPASA Reg: 2019/1789).
Her career includes roles in regulatory, corporate, and consulting environments. She began as an Environmental Officer at the Department of Mineral Resources before moving into the private sector as a Group Environmental Manager at a JSE-listed mining company. For over a decade, she has led Joan Consulting (Pty) Ltd, providing services including mineral rights licensing, environmental authorizations and audits, mine rehabilitation planning, and stakeholder engagement.
